This Freedom of Information response concerns gas and electricity at Department for Transport (DfT) headquarters. The request asked for details of:

  • the electricity and gas costs in the 2011 to 2012
  • the energy suppliers
  • the tariff currently in effect
  • how we guarantee the best price is paid for energy

The response states that energy costs for 2011 to 2012 were £19,938 for gas and £478, 973 for electricity, paid to Gas Corona Energy and Electricity EDF Energy respectively and that energy is not supplied under a tariff. The response also states that procedures for maintaining value for money from suppliers are set by the Government Procurement Service.
