This document brings together the department’s main evidence priorities mapped onto DfT’s single departmental plan.

The aims of the document are to:

  • promote DfT’s programme of research among the external research community to grow and diversify the range of partners we work with
  • enable those outside the department already conducting research to align their work with DfT’s interests to deliver research with more impact
  • facilitate partnerships with other funders and those planning research programmes to conduct research collaboratively and efficiently

The document is also part of the government’s response to Sir Paul Nurse’s review of the UK Research Councils. The review recommended enhancing communication of government research priorities.
