This report outlines priority questions where new research and evidence could support policy, delivery and decision-making across the transport system. 

The area of research interest (ARI) is intended to: 

  • raise awareness of DfT’s research priorities 
  • encourage collaboration with academia, industry and other research organisations 
  • provide transparency about areas where DfT is seeking new evidence and insight
