Accessibility statement: Future Transport Zones national evaluation Mobility as a Service survey

Updated 24 November 2021

This is the accessibility statement for the Future of Transport Zones (FTZ) national evaluation Mobility as a Service (MaaS) survey. You need a panel or survey account in order to access this online survey.

The survey was designed by the National Centre for Social Research. The survey was developed and is hosted by Dynata LLC on behalf of the Department for Transport.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this survey. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen and without content being truncated or overlapping
  • navigate most of the survey using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the survey using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the survey using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the survey text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 23 November 2021. It was last reviewed on 23 November 2021.

This survey was last tested on 12 November 2021. The test was carried out by Test Partners Ltd.

We followed GOV.UK guidance on deciding how to select a representative sample of pages to test as follows:

  1. The survey uses branching logic, so we navigated through all the possible paths to identify all the pages that exist.
  2. For each page, we created an inventory of all the content types, such as textboxes, radio button groups, checkboxes, status indicators etc.
  3. We then identified the minimum representative subset of pages that contained at least one example of each type of content. It is not necessary to test every page because the survey is entirely built by selecting components from a component library, which means that the coding is completely consistent.
  4. We conducted a manual WCAG audit on the representative subset of pages.
  5. We conducted an expert review using JAWS 2021 and NVDA 2021 screen readers. This identified a number of user experience issues that are not WCAG non-conformances.
  6. We conducted several rounds of fixing and retesting until all WCAG non-conformances and user experience issues were fixed.
