Devolution of adult education functions: MoUs

Memoranda of understanding between DfE, mayoral combined authorities and the Mayor of London for the devolution or delegation of adult education functions.

Details

Some functions which relate to adult education and the associated adult skills fund are devolved to strategic authorities and delegated to the Mayor of London.

The strategic authorities are:

  • Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
  • Cornwall
  • East Midlands
  • Greater London Area
  • Greater Manchester
  • Liverpool City Region
  • North East
  • South Yorkshire
  • Tees Valley
  • West of England
  • West Midlands
  • West Yorkshire
  • York and North Yorkshire

These documents set out agreed ways of working to support the devolution or delegation of the adult education functions.
