Request

Please provide the following information for the financial years 2023 to 2024 and 2024 to 2025:

  • A list of all the staff networks at the organisation
  • Whether each network receives internal funding and, if so, how much (please express annually for the last four financial years)
  • How much FTE equivalent staff time each network is entitled to. For example, a staff network may have a chair who’s entitled to spend 10% of their working hours devoted to the network (please express annually for the last three financial years)
  • A list of events that each network has held in this financial year so far (April to the present day), including the title of the event, information on any guest speakers and the time of the event

  • RACE
  • Disability
  • Gender
  • Pride
  • Parents and carers

Internal funding for SIA staff networks

None of the SIA staff networks has received a stream of internal funding in the past financial years of 2023 to 2024 and 2024 to 2025.

Network entitlements to FTE-equivalent staff time

There is no set time allocated or allowed. Any time required is to be raised with the individual’s relevant line manager for approval. The time the individual requires will be set aside, unless there is a diary conflict or deadline which takes precedent.

Events held so far in this financial year

Below are listed the events held so far in this financial year (April 2024 to the present day) as well as any guest speakers.

Wellbeing network:

  • Workshops about personal resilience and supporting ‘mental health first aiders’ in the organisation, plus their training – total 3 hours

RACE network:

  • Network meeting discussion on films, TV shows and books – 1 hour
  • International food event to showcase culture and raise money for charity – 2 hours
  • Black history month quiz – 1 hour
  • RACE network social event – 1 hour

Disability network:

  • None

Gender network:

  • Introduction to menopause and peer mentoring – 1 hour
  • Updates on Workers’ Protection Act, World Menopause Day, Remembrance Day, International Men’s Day – 1 hour
  • Mentoring taster day – 1 hour
  • International Women’s Day and menopause awareness session with one guest speaker (no fee paid) – 1 hour

Pride network:

  • Aims and values workshop – 1 hour
  • LGBTQ+ festive quiz – 45 mins

Parents and carers network:

  • First anniversary of Carers Act – with guest speaker from Carers UK – 1 hour
  • Carers lunch and learn – 1 hour
  • Carers passport session – 1 hour
  • Flexible working and your rights explained session – 1 hour
  • Carers leave lunch and learn – 1 hour
