Designated standards: measuring instruments – notice of publication, 12 April 2025 (web version)

The Department for Business and Trade notice of publication 0115/25 of 12 April 2025 of references to standards for measuring instruments in support of the Measuring Instruments Regulations 2016 (S.I. 2016/1153)

This notice confirms that:

(a) The references to standards listed in Part 1 of Annex 1 to this notice are published for the purposes of regulation 2A of S.I. 2016/1153 and accordingly are designated pursuant to that regulation in relation to England and Wales and Scotland. The list of published standards set out in Annex 1 to notice 0062/22 is amended in accordance with Annex 1 from the date of this notice. For clarity, Part 2 of Annex 1 to this notice sets out the complete list of references of standards which have been published and accordingly are designated for the purposes of S.I. 2016/1153 as at the date of this notice.

(b) References to standards listed in Annex 2 to this notice (which have previously been published for the regulation 2A of S.I. 2016/1153) will be removed from publication from the date set out in Annex II to this notice. Accordingly, each of these standards will not be designated, or give rise to any presumption of conformity, on or after the date set out in respect of it. The list of references to be removed from publication, set out in Annex II to notice 0062/22, is amended in accordance with Annex 2 to this notice from the date of this notice. For clarity, Part 2 of Annex 2 to this notice sets out the complete list of references to standards which, as at the date of this notice, are due to be removed from publication

The list of published standards in Part of Annex 1 to notice 0062/22 is to be amended as follows:

1. rows 1 to 14 inclusive are reordered and renumbered 1 to 7 inclusive.

2. the standard reference EN 12261:2018 in row 2 (previously row 2a) is replaced by the following:

2. the following standard reference is added to Annex II and will continue to confer a presumption of conformity with the corresponding essential requirements until the removal from publication date of 27 August 2026: EN 12261:2018.
