Details

Under Procurement Policy Note 021 (PPN) 021, UK public sector organisations must conduct payment spot checks at least once every six months.

This data is provided by Defra, including the Environment Agency, Natural England, the Animal and Plant Health Agency, the Marine Management Organisation and the Rural Payments Agency, for public contracts awarded under the Procurement Act 2023 where:

  • a tender notice or transparency notice was published on or after 1 October 2025
  • the contract is worth more than £5 million per annum (including VAT)
  • the contract includes one or more sub contracts substantially for the purpose of performing, or contributing to the performance of, all or part of that public contract

Payment spot check summary reports ensure 30 day payment terms are being implemented throughout the supply chain in public sub contracts.
