The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2010 (that does not involve substantial change) from Severn Trent Water Limited.

This variation application is to add a new discharge activity to the existing permit. It is to cover non-emergency start –up procedures to protect the new treatment facilities and ensure quality of water entering the public water supply network is not compromised.

The Environment Agency must decide whether to grant or refuse the application. If they grant it, they must decide what conditions to include in the permit.
