An application has been made to the Environment Agency by David Newman. The Environment Agency are required to give notice of this application.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from un-named drains at Colne, Cambridgeshire at National Grid References (NGR) TL 38472 77144 and TL 38480 77290.

The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates and periods:

  • 216 cubic metres an hour
  • 2,592 cubic metres a day
  • 246,510 cubic metres a year

Between November and March inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for filling a reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation and/or subject to an appropriate compensatory discharge to the drainage system from the reservoir, re-abstraction for spray irrigation from un-named drains at NGR TL 38805 77260 to TL 37420 76344, and TL 37475 78410 to TL 38595 78250 between April and October.
