D J C Farms Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number 6/33/53/*S/0517/R01 which authorises the abstraction of water from Cross Drain, New Dyke, Monks Lode, Great Raveley Drain, North Western Cut, Bevills Leam, Black Ham and un-named drains within the Middle Level System for reservoir storage for subsequent spray irrigation and spray irrigation direct at Holme, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.

The variation applied for is: to add additional points and reaches for spray irrigation direct for new lands occupied in Middle Moor of the Ramsey 4th Internal Drainage Board (IDB) district, centred around National Grid Reference (NGR): TL 26231 87679 and in New Fen of the Ramsey, Upwood and Great Raveley IDB district, centred around NGR: TL 26203 85576.

Further details are: a simultaneous and greater discharge of water will be made from reservoir storage and transferred to the new IDB districts to compensate for the abstraction as it occurs each day. The current licensed quantities and terms will remain as authorised.
