Details of the application

D C West Farms (Suffolk) Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Broadland Rivers catchment.

The application is to vary a full licence to abstract water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 13.6 litres per second
  • 55 cubic metres an hour
  • 1,320 cubic metres a day
  • 22,500 cubic metres a year
  • between November to March inclusive
  • at National Grid Reference (NGR) TM 13040 78930
  • from abstraction location River Waveney at Stuston.

The water will be used for Trickle Irrigation – Storage.
