Details of the application

D C, R C and J Bell have applied to the Environment Agency for three licences.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of these applications (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006).

The applications are for three full licences to abstract water from Beil’s Beck at National Grid Reference (NGR) SE 85506 37738, Back Delfin between NGR SE 84467 37900 and NGR SE 84412 37727 and a groundwater catch pit sourced from sands and gravels at NGR SE 85655 37701.

The three applications are each to abstract water as follows:

  • 60 cubic metres an hour

  • 600 cubic metres a day

  • 15,000 cubic metres a year

Between 1 April and 31 October inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for spray irrigation, with water from Beil’s Beck also used for storage in the catch pit prior to irrigation.
