This report contains information about the UK cyber security sector, including the number of businesses, the sector’s contribution to the UK economy, the number of people employed and the products and services offered by these firms.
It also contains the first update on AI in the cyber security sector, a new section which was included in last year’s report for the first time.
Key findings
- The UK cyber security sector generated revenue of £14.7 billion, up 11% since last year
- There are 438 new cyber security firms, bringing the total to 2,603, up 20% from 2,165 last year
- The sector employs 69,600 people (full time equivalents), up 3% since last year, an increase of around 2,300 jobs
- The total gross value added (GVA) for the sector has reached c. £9.1 billion, an increase of 17% since last year
- GVA per employee has increased from £116,200 to £131,200, an increase of 13%
- In terms of investment, £184 million was raised across 47 deals within dedicated cyber security firms in 2025.
