This letter is a response to a Freedom of Information request about cyber attacks on Department for Transport systems. It asks about:

  • the number of attacks per month since records began
  • the cost to the department of the attacks it has faced
  • the amount of money spent on improving cyber security over the last 5 years

The department provides details of expenditure information held centrally, but does not provide information about cyber attacks to ensure that sensitive information is protected.
