The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from Enviro Skip Hire Ltd.

The applicant wants to vary an existing standard rules permit (2008 no.7) to a bespoke environmental permit for Enviro Skip Hire Ltd for their site at Norton Way, Sandbach, Cheshire CW11 3WL. Enviro Skip Hire Ltd will hold and operate an Environmental Permit (EP) for the acceptance, storage and treatment of household, commercial and industrial wastes comprising largely of construction, demolition and excavation (CDE) waste from surrounding areas.

The permit variation application is required in order to make the following changes to the existing Environmental Permit: a) To update the conditions of the permit to allow for the storage of waste within the external yard, b) To increase the list of wastes permitted for acceptance at the site to those permitted by the standard rules permit SR 2015 No 6 and to include the waste code 19 12 12 to allow the acceptance of ‘co-mingled recyclable waste and part – processed mixed non-hazardous waste from other waste management sites’.
