Details of the application

CVB (Costain, Vinci Construction Grands Projets and Bachy Soletanche joint venture) has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water for the purpose of dewatering of the Chalk at Grid References TQ 34371 79748 and TQ 34367 79760.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 36 cubic metres an hour
  • 864 cubic metres a day
  • 105,300 cubic metres a year

Between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.

All water abstracted for the purpose of dewatering will be discharged per day into the sewage drain at Grid Reference TQ 34398 79735. The proposed abstraction lies within the Thames Catchment and the Thames Abstraction Management Strategy reporting area.
