The Environment Agency has received a new bespoke application for an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from Wrights of Twycross Limited.

Wrights of Twycross Limited seeks a Bespoke Permit to operate a Waste Transfer Station to undertake the following:
• Screening, bulking, sorting and separation of non-hazardous construction and demolition waste
• Storage, bulking up and transfer of sewage grit and screenings, street sweepings and gully waste
• Dewatering of drilling muds and dredgings
• Bulking up of wash waters from washing out tanks and tankers
• Storage, bulking up and transfer of septic tank wastes for off-site treatment.
The Applicant is applying for a bespoke permit to operate a Waste Transfer Station with treatment for non-hazardous waste. It is proposed that there will be a total throughput of 23,000 tonnes per annum for the facility which is split between 13,000 tonnes (10,000m3 ) of liquid wastes and 10,000 tonnes of grits and dry/solid wastes. The application seeks to allow Wrights to undertake the following Disposal and Recovery activities:
• D15: Storage pending any of the operations numbered D1 to D14 (excluding temporary storage, pending collection, on the site where it is produced
• R13: Storage of waste pending the operations numbered R1 to R12 (excluding temporary storage, pending collection, on the site where it is produced)
• R3: Recycling/reclamation of organic substances which are not used as solvents, R5: Recycling/reclamation of other inorganic materials.
