The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2010 involving substantial change to a permit from Sarval (Hartshill) Limited (previously De Mulder and Sons Limited).

  • Regulated facility types: 6.8 A(2)(a): Disposing of or recycling animal carcasses or animal waste by rendering at plant with a treatment capacity exceeding 10 tonnes per day of animal carcasses. 5.3 Part A (1)(c)(i)- Disposal of non-hazardous waste in a facility with a capacity of more than 50 tonnes per day by; biological treatment.

  • and an outline of the main alternatives, if any, considered.

Normally the Environment Agency must put any comments they receive on the public register. Tell the Environment Agency if you don’t want your comments to be public.

The Environment Agency must decide whether to grant or refuse the application. If they grant it, they must decide what conditions to include in the permit.
