Notice is hereby given of a reference to the Copyright Tribunal under section 126 of the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988 by British Broadcasting Corporation of BC2 86, Broadcast Centre, 201 Wood Lane, London W12 7TP (First Applicant) and BBC Worldwide Ltd, TVC 4A, Television Centre,101 Wood Lane, London W12 7FA (Second Applicant).

A dispute has arisen between the Applicants and Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society Ltd (First Respondent) and Performing Rights Society Ltd (Second Respondent) both of 2 Pancras Square, London N1C 4AG concerning the renewal of the Applicants’ existing copyright licence agreements with the Respondents. The licence agreements were due to expire on 31 December 2016 and the Applicants contend that it is unreasonable in the circumstances that the licence agreements should cease to be in force.

Any organisation or person wishing to object to the Applicants’ credentials or wishing to be made party to the proceedings should apply to the Secretary of the Copyright Tribunal in the manner prescribed in Part 1V the Copyright Tribunal Rules 2010, by 22 June 2017.
