Operation Zero, launched by the Department for Transport at COP26, is an industry coalition working together to accelerate the decarbonisation of the operations and maintenance vessels in the North Sea offshore wind sector.

The vision of Operation Zero is for zero-emission operations and maintenance vessels to be deployed in the region by 2025.

This declaration was signed by the initial cohort of members on 9 November 2021. It outlines the potential for this sector to be a first mover, the group’s mission statement and ambitions, and the pledges of members to work together to decarbonise these vessels.

Research into decarbonising offshore wind operations and maintenance vessels has been published to support the initiative.
