Consultation on revisions to the Attorney General’s Guidelines on Disclosure and the CPIA Code of Practice: call for evidence.

Documents

Details

This consultation is being launched to seek views on the revised Disclosure Guidelines and CPIA Code of Practice. This is the result of continuing, collaborative work throughout the Criminal Justice System to identify and incorporate improvements to these sources of guidance on disclosure.

We want to hear from those who use and have used these documents, from investigators, prosecutors, defence practitioners, as well as anyone with experiences, be they personal or otherwise, of disclosure and the criminal justice system more broadly.

The current (2015) version of the Code of Practice included the ‘Streamlined Disclosure Certificate’ (SDC) as an annex. This has not been included in the revised version attached to this consultation, as the SDC is being revised under the auspices of the Criminal Procedure Rule Committee (Crim PRC). A revised SDC will be issued separately in due course. All feedback on this form should be sent to disclosure@attorneygeneral.gov.uk.

This consultation closes on 22 April at 23.59.
