The commission received a substantial number of complaints about a grant of £1 million which the trustees of the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament had made to another charity, the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham. The commission made provisional conclusions about whether the trustees’ decision to make the grant was valid.
The trustees disagreed with the commission’s view, so it reviewed the decision. The commission concluded that the grant decision had not been properly made and the recipient has since repaid the money.
