Confirm entry to a refuge in a case of domestic violence: refuge managers

Adapt this sample letter to confirm that a victim of domestic violence has stayed in your refuge for more than 24 hours.

If you manage a refuge providing shelter for victims of domestic violence, you can adapt this letter to confirm that someone:

  • has used your service (for a minimum of 24 hours)
  • tried to stay at your refuge but was turned away as it was full

You need to give this evidence when victims of domestic violence apply for legal aid.
