Euro exchange rates — official rates for 2026

Traders and officers at UK Transit Offices of Departure who wish to calculate the value of a Union or common transit guarantee must use the official exchange rate published by the European Commission when converting sterling and other national currencies into or from the euro (Article 22, Paragraph 1 of Appendix II to the Convention on a Common Transit Procedure refers).

These exchange rates are used by the Transit Offices of Departure to calculate the amount of duty and other charges covered by the standard 10,000 euro voucher in non-euro currencies.

The European Commission has published the following exchange rates between national currencies and the euro.

1 euro is equal to:

  • 1,9558 Bulgarian lev (BGN) (valid until 31 January 2026, when Bulgaria will adopt the Euro)
  • 24,275 Czech koruna (CZK)
  • 7,4659 Danish krone (DKK)
  • 2,7252 Georgian Iari (GEL)
  • 388,70 Hungarian forint (HUF)
  • 142,60 Iceland króna (ISK)
  • 61,5538 Macedonian denar (MKD)
  • 19,6008 Moldovan leu (MDL)
  • 1 Montenegrin euro EUR
  • 11,6580 Norwegian krone (NOK)
  • 4,2583 Polish zloty (PLN)
  • 0,8697 pound sterling (GBP)
  • 5,0821 Romanian leu (RON)
  • 117,1697 Serbian dinar (RSD)
  • 11,0355 Swedish krona (SEK)
  • 0,9365 Swiss franc (CHF)
  • 48,3028 Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH)

These rates shall be applied with effect from 1 January 2026.
