COP26 DA Ministerial Group: 22 March 2021

The second COP26 Devolved Administrations Ministerial Group took place today. The meeting was chaired by the COP26 President Designate, Rt Hon Alok Sharma MP.

The attending Ministers were:

From the UK Government: COP26 President Designate, Rt Hon Alok Sharma MP; Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Scotland, Iain Stewart MP; Secretary of State for Wales, Rt Hon Simon Hart MP; Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Rt Hon Brandon Lewis MP.

From the Scottish Government: Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform, Roseanna Cunningham MSP.

From the Welsh Government: Minister for Environment, Energy and Rural Affairs, Lesley Griffiths MS.

From the Northern Ireland Executive: Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, Edwin Poots MLA.

The Ministerial Group discussed UK objectives for COP26 and the G7 climate track, as well as domestic engagement and communications for COP26.
