The Local Authority Insight Survey aims to discover how local authorities administer benefits and gather their points of view on current issues.

This wave covers:

• communications with local authorities, including the Removal of the Spare Room Subsidy good practice guide
• the Targeted Affordability Fund, including qualitative research on this with local authority benefit managers

Through the Targeted Affordability Fund, the government has increased Local Housing Allowance rates in certain areas by 4% to help prevent those areas becoming unaffordable for Housing Benefit claimants.
