Agenda Item 1: Chair’s welcome, members interests, minutes of last meeting

1. The Chair welcomed members. Members’ interests were noted, and the minutes of the previous meeting were agreed as final.

Agenda Item 2: DESNZ update

2. The Committee received an update from DESNZ on recent developments and forthcoming work including wider departmental priorities.

Agenda Item 3: Support for consumers in an energy crisis

3. The Committee discussed options for supporting consumers in the event of further energy price rises, including existing and potential mechanisms for delivering support.

Agenda Item 4: Heat pumps - Overview

4. The Committee received an overview of heat pump technology and discussed considerations relating to performance, installation and household use.

Agenda Item 5: Utilita

5. The Committee received a presentation from Utilita on the drivers of energy bills and lessons from the previous energy crisis, including perspectives on future consumer support.

Agenda Item 6: CFP research project 2025/26

6. The Committee discussed the draft findings of the CFP Research Project on heat pumps and considered potential areas of focus for future research.

Agenda Item 7: AOB 

7. The next formal meeting will be held on 27 April 2026.
