Details of the application

Cole Ambrose Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from Crooked Drain, Great Fen Road, Soham, Ely at TL 58850 78417 to fill a 100,000 cubic metre reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 50.8 cubic metres an hour
  • 1,219.2 cubic metres a day
  • 100,000 cubic metres a year

Between 1 November and 31 March inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for spray irrigation – storage.
