1. Introduction

The Chair welcomed members to the meeting. The Board noted recent executive appointments, including Emma Cochrane as Executive Director, Consumer Protection, and Jenny Haydock as Chief Economic Adviser.

The Chair reflected on the upcoming meeting.  

3. Minutes

The Board approved the minutes of the Board meetings held on 25 February 2026.

Strategy, risk and portfolio

4. CEO update

The Board was updated on and discussed recent developments in the CMA’s portfolio and risk profile. It also reviewed the external guidance tracker and the finance update for P11 (February).

5. Overview of CMA approach to annual report and accounts and CMA performance programme

The Board discussed the proposed approach to the annual report and accounts and the development of performance metrics.

6. CMA stakeholder perception survey

The Board received a presentation on the findings of the CMA’s stakeholder perception survey.

7. Overview of CMA consumer protection work

The Board received an overview of the CMA’s consumer protection work.

8. Overview of the CMA response to the situation in the Middle East

The Board received an update on the CMA’s response to recent developments in the Middle East.

9. Heating oil update

The Board received an update on the Heating oil market study.

10. Overview of the Subsidy Advice Unit (SAU) and the SAU monitoring project

The Board received an update on the Subsidy Advice Unit (SAU), including its monitoring work and first statutory report.

11. Remuneration Committee (RemCo) update

The Board received an update from the Remuneration Committee.

12. Overview of CMA finance and reporting

The Board received an update on the CMA’s financial position.
