Clock House Farm Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for two licences.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of these applications in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The first application is for a full licence to abstract water from the River Beult at Firmin’s River, Linton, Maidstone, ME17 4BA at National Grid Reference (NGR) TQ 74370 48234.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 48 cubic metres an hour
- 672 cubic metres a day
- 68,210 cubic metres a year
- All year.
The second application is for a full licence to abstract water from an unnamed drain at Wares Farm, Linton, Maidstone, ME17 4BN at NGR TQ 74917 49358.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 60 cubic metres an hour
- 900 cubic metres a day
- 54,767 cubic metres a year
- All year.
The water will be used for storage for subsequent trickle irrigation. The proposed abstractions lie within the Medway Abstraction Licensing Strategy area.
