Clemency Ives, Stephanie Williams and Octavia Williams trading as Brickworth Park Farms have applied to the Environment Agency for four full abstraction licences.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of these applications in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

Application reference NPS/WR/039219 to abstract water from inland waters known as Dungewood Brook at National Grid Reference (NGR) SZ 45267 80306 and Atherfield Brook at NGR SZ 46086 80242.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 110 cubic metres an hour
  • 2,000 cubic metres a day
  • 62,000 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 December and 31 March inclusive in each year
  • Purpose: spray irrigation (winter storage).

Application reference NPS/WR/039217 is to abstract water from inland water known as Atherfield Brook at NGR SZ 44853 79856 at Shepherd’s Chine in the Isle of Wight.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 91 cubic metres an hour
  • 2,182 cubic metres a day
  • 113,650 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 December and 31 March inclusive in each year
  • Purpose: spray irrigation (winter storage).

Application reference NPS/WR/039206 is to abstract water from a seepage reservoir dug in to underground strata known as Ferruginous sands of the Lower Greensand at NGR SZ 47200 80402 in Yafford, Isle of Wight.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 40 cubic metres an hour
  • 650 cubic metres a day
  • 46,000 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 October inclusive in each year
  • Purpose: spray irrigation.

Application reference NPS/WR/039201 is to abstract water from underground strata known as Lower Greensand at National Grid References (NGRs) SZ 47752 80322 and SZ 47250 80150 near Chale Green in the Isle of Wight.

The application is to abstract water at NGR 47752 80322 as follows:

  • 36 cubic metres an hour
  • 436 cubic metres a day
  • 22,727 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 March and 31 October inclusive in each year
  • Purpose: spray irrigation.

and to abstract water at NGR SZ 47250 80150 as follows:

  • 54 cubic metres an hour
  • 545 cubic metres a day
  • 5,000 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 March and 31 October inclusive in each year
  • Purpose: spray irrigation.

These applications have been made following the lapse of all four previous licences. These applications seek to replace the lapsed licences on materially the same terms.
