Your organisation’s commitments to achieve the rights of people with disabilities in developing countries

A. Commitments to eliminate Stigma and Discrimination:

Scotland’s International Development Alliance commits to supporting members of the international development community in Scotland in their drive for better inclusion of people with disabilities in all their international work, with the aim of eliminating stigma and discrimination

Timeframe and/or implementation plan (75 words limit)

By 30 June 2022 to have promoted the Charter for Change to all members of the Alliance, invited them to identify what support they need to make the changes that eliminate stigma and discrimination in the countries in which they engage internationally and delivered that support. Success is demonstrated through evaluation led by disabled people and (wherever possible) DPOs.

B. Commitments for Data Disaggregation:

Please enter the exact wording of the commitment/s, including details of others who have supported its development (75 words limit): Ensure high quality support is provided to ensure that all members of the Alliance have the information and technical assistance they need to be able to meet all the commitments for data disaggregation

Timeframe and/or implementation plan (75 words limit)

By 30 June 2022 to have promoted the Charter for Change to all members of the Alliance; invited them to identify what support they need to use the Washing Questions in all their programme design and implementation and to make the changes to their data collection and monitoring that allow them to disaggregate data to ensure that their programmes are fully inclusive. Success is demonstrated through evaluation led by disabled people and (wherever possible) DPOs.

C. Commitments for people with disabilities in Humanitarian Contexts:

Through the Alliance CEO’s chairing role of the Humanitarian Emergencies Fund panel, convened in Scotland, to promote to all HEF members the commitments made in this Charter for Change and ensure all panel members have the information and technical assistance that they need for fully inclusive humanitarian response. Timeframe and/or implementation plan (75 words limit)

By 30 June 2022 to have promoted the Charter for Change to all members of the Humanitarian Emergencies Fund, invited them to identify what support they need to make the changes that ensure fully inclusive responses in the countries in which they deliver humanitarian relief.
