The Secretary of State makes the following designation in accordance with the requirement imposed by paragraph 1 of Schedule 8 to the Terrorism Act 2000(a)[footnote 1] (“the 2000 Act”).

1. This Designation may be cited as the Terrorism Act 2000 (Places of Detention)(England and Wales and Scotland) Designation 2022 and comes into force on 24 August 2022.

2. In England and Wales and Scotland any police station is designated as a place at which persons may be detained under section 43B(b)[footnote 2] of the 2000 Act.
