This circular implements a new non-degree entry route, the Police Constable Entry Programme.

It closes the old Initial Police Learning and Development Programme.

The circular takes effect on 1 April 2024. From then, people applying to be a police constable must enter through either:

  • the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship
  • the Degree Holder Entry Programme
  • the pre-join degree in policing
  • the Police Constable Entry Programme
