Sir Michael Wilshaw has written to Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Constabulary raising concerns about the contribution of police to safeguarding children.
Ofsted’s Chief Inspector, Sir Michael Wilshaw, has set out his concerns in a letter to Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Constabulary, Sir Tom Winsor. He highlights evidence where police forces are not sharing information about domestic abuse cases in a timely way. He also draws attention to instances when the police did not respond quickly enough to the issue of children going missing from care. He looks forward to working closely with Sir Tom to continue to shine a spotlight on this vital issue.
