Child poverty in the UK: the report on the 2010 target

This publication was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Reports the 2010 to 2011 relative income child poverty figures and explains why the target to halve child poverty by 2010 were missed.

The previous government set a target to reduce the number of children living in relative income poverty by half by 2010 to 2011 from a 1998 to 1999 baseline. Section 1 of the Child Poverty Act 2010 requires the government to produce a report on whether or not this target was met.
