The Chief Coroner’s Annual Report for 2025 provides a comprehensive overview of the work undertaken by the coroner service in England and Wales during the calendar year.

This year’s report has 2 areas of focus:

• the continuing work to promote consistency in the in the coronial jurisdiction across England and Wales, including the publishing of the ‘Chief Coroner’s Guidance for Coroners on the Bench’
• the reconstitution of the Chief Coroner’s national cadres, including those in respect of major incidents and service deaths.
