The Chief Coroner’s Annual Report for 2024 provides a comprehensive overview of the work undertaken by the coroner service in England and Wales during the calendar year. It is the first report submitted to the Lord Chancellor by Her Honour Judge Alexia Durran, following her appointment as Chief Coroner on 25 May 2024. This year’s report focuses on plans to address 2 issues:
- scrutiny of cases over 12 months
- wellbeing of, and support for, coroners
