Chickerell Range firing times April 2024

A normal firing day is from 8am up to an hour before last light.

There is no firing scheduled for April 2024.

Chickerell range area

Firing on Chickerell Range restricts access to the danger area over Chesil Beach, the Fleet and the Coastal Path on Tidmoor Point where the public are safely diverted around the danger area. The safety area extends out to sea and is marked on all charts of the area.

Your safety

Do not touch any military debris, it may be dangerous. Note the location and inform commandant or police.

Red flag warning signals indicate that live firing is taking place within the range boundaries, which are marked by red and white poles. When warning signals are displayed do not cross the range boundary. Flags are lowered and access gates are opened as soon as live firing ceases and the area is made safe.

There is no firing on this range during the hours of darkness.
