The Environment Agency has reviewed the Environmental Permit for the installation which is subject to Chapter II of the Industrial Emissions Directive under the Environmental Permitting (England & Wales) Regulations 2016 and is now consulting on the proposed decision.

Brief description of activity:
Stanlow Manufacturing Complex is situated south of the Mersey Estuary near Ellesmere Port. The installation processes crude oil in a refinery. This is an Environment Agency initiated variation and consolidation to implement: * a statutory review of permits in the Refining of Mineral Oil & Gas industry sector * the incorporation of legislative changes following the publication of “Best Available Techniques (BAT) conclusions” for the Refining of Mineral Oil & Gas – published 28 October 2014. We have considered four requests for derogations from the Operator relating to BAT Conclusions 12, 27, 34 and 52. We propose to grant these derogation requests.
