CEMEX UK Materials Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number MD/028/0069/039 which authorises the abstraction of water from underground strata in Lincolnshire at National Grid Reference SK 87608 61396 for the purpose of mineral washing.

The variation applied for is to increase abstraction amounts to:

  • 2,970,000 cubic metres per year

  • 14,850 cubic metres per day

  • 1,485 cubic metres per hour

  • Instantaneous rate: 413 litres per second
