Details of the application

Cemex UK Materials Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Lower Trent and Erewash catchment.

The application is for a licence to transfer water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 120 litres per second
  • 474 cubic metres an hour
  • 11,386 cubic metres a day
  • 2,277,058 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
  • at National Grid References (NGRs) SK 26899 26914, SK 27305 27370, SK 28453 26876, SK 27987 26112
  • from abstraction location Willington Quarry.

The water will be used for Dewatering.
