Details of the application

Cemex UK Materials Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Lower Trent and Erewash catchment.

The application is for a licence to transfer water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 120 litres per second
  • 432 cubic metres an hour
  • 6,770 cubic metres a day
  • 1,362,279 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
  • at National Grid References (NGRs) SK 80104 61943, SK 80743 61949, SK 80865 61590, SK 80201 61389
  • from abstraction location Cromwell Quarry.

The water will be used for Dewatering.
