Details of the application

Castle Properties (Southern) Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from underground strata of the Hythe Formation at National Grid Reference TQ 09173 17262.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 0.9 cubic metres an hour
  • 21.6 cubic metres a day
  • 7,854.8 cubic metres a year.

The water will be used for potable water supply – storage and general or process washing.                             

This application is associated with the construction of new dwellings at the same site. The abstracted water will be used for the potable water supply to those dwellings as well as for construction purposes.
