Castle Hill Quarry Co. Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The application is for a licence to abstract (take) water from Carboniferous Limestone at the areas between National Grid References ST 25077 40434, ST 25184 40501, ST 25166 40354, ST 25094 40328 and ST 24358 40630, ST 24358 40360, ST 24783 40673, ST 24446 40540 to transfer it to Wild Moor Middle Rhyne at National Grid Reference ST 24962 41141 without intervening use.

Abstraction will take place 1 April to 31 March inclusive.
