In April 2025, the Carer’s Allowance earnings limit increased from £151 to £196 per week, with the aim of supporting carers to undertake more paid work while retaining entitlement to Carer’s Allowance. The Department for Work and Pensions commissioned independent research to understand the impacts of this change.

This report presents findings from a survey conducted with 1,382 Carer’s Allowance claimants and 60 in-depth interviews.
