The Capital Grants 2025 manual consists of:

  • applicant’s guidance
  • agreement holder’s guidance
  • terms and conditions

Capital Grants are 3-year agreements offering capital items to achieve specific environmental benefits within 6 groups:

  • boundaries, trees and orchards
  • improved water quality
  • improved air quality
  • improved natural flood management
  • assessments
  • improvements

We plan to add 4 more capital items to the Capital Grants offer:

  • accreditation for educational access visits
  • installing and maintaining signage
  • using tree surgery to hinge a tree into a watercourse
  • creating or restoring ponds

More information on these new items will be available later this summer on the Capital grant finder tool.

Use the guidance to apply for a Capital Grant from 3 July 2025.

Read the applicant’s guide to find out if you’re eligible for a grant and how to apply.

Read the agreement holder’s guide to find out how to manage your agreement and make a claim for payment.

You can also apply for other CS capital grants at any time of the year.
