Details of the application

Canal & River Trust has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Tame, Anker and Mease catchment

The application is for a licence to transfer water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 80 litres per second
  • 288 cubic metres an hour
  • 6,912 cubic metres a day
  • 1,223,841 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
  • at National Grid Reference SP 36170 89647
  • from abstraction location Griff Brook at Griff Arms Pumps, Hill Top, Nuneaton.

The water will be used for transfer for the purpose of navigation authority operations
