Details of the application

Canal and River Trust has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Lower Trent and Erewash catchment.

The application is for a licence to transfer water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 139.2 litres per second
  • 501 cubic metres an hour
  • 12,011 cubic metres a day
  • 153,340 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
  • at National Grid Reference (NGR) SK 81850 30803
  • from abstraction location Knipton Reservoir Outflow

The water will be used for Transfer between Sources.
